Island Steels Itself For Impending Closure

The imminent closure of a steel plant in Wales has triggered an emergency summit of local leaders. The Isle of Anglesey CC has staged its own economic forum to help find local problems brought about by the global economic downturn. Senior staff and councillors were joined by representatives from the Welsh National Assembly, Confederation of British Industry, Federation of Small Businesses and Citi- zens' Advice Bureau, together with representatives from the financial sector and local employers.
