Cambridgeshire CC's Mark Lloyd has been named as the new chief executive of the Local Government Association (LGA), following the departure of Carolyn Downs. LGA chairman, Cllr Gary Porter, told The MJ he was 'more than happy' with the outcome of the recruitment process. He said: 'Mark has a strong track record of doing things for the LGA- not just showing up, but actually getting outcomes - and he had the most comprehensive black book. He also has a good track record on the ground - although all the candidates run pretty tight councils.'
