Galliford Try Partnerships has fended off competition to win the first contract for Enfield LBC's £6bn Meridian Water development. Senior councillors last week voted in favour of officers' recommendation to appoint Galliford Try Partnerships as its development partner for the first 725 homes. L&Q, Peabody and Redrow were also in the running on the shortlist, whittled down from 10 submitted bids. The first homes are expected to be completed by 2022, with the development including public squares, shops, leisure facilities and Meridian Water train station. Chief executive of Galliford Try Partnerships, Stephen Teagle, said: 'We are delighted to have been selected to work in close partnership with Enfield LBC and the local communities on the delivery of Meridian One as a new vibrant mixed-use, mixed tenure neighbourhood.
