The equipment comprises a bathtub (1) shaped so as roughly to fit the human body in a relaxed position, and a large number of jets (8) arranged in rows in the tube walls corresponding to portions of the acupuncture meridians of the patient. In the lengthwise direction the tub can have one convex portion extending upwards (6) at the level of the legs and thighs, and a second one (3) extending downwards at the level of hips and loins, to aid relaxation of the respective muscles. Elbow rests can be provided below shoulder level preferably sloping slightly towards the rear of the tube so as to form with the latter an approximately circular section.
