This story starts when Mel Cooke married Debbie in the exotic location of Grenada. "Debbie was expecting a white limo but, instead, she had a Prisoner-style white Moke." He then decided he'd try and find a rather different present for their 17th wedding anniversary to remind them both of their special day. He went in search of a Moke, of the same colour, and found this excellent example. It was originally restored in 2011, by Peter Britten, for its previous owner, Charlie Ram. Matt Gordon, who works for Mel and is a massive Mini fan, explains: "The car was being stored in central London, and it was costing Charlie a fortune, but he really didn't want to sell it." And who can blame him? He'd invested heavily in the car, after buying it from the London Mini Centre in July 2010, and had it restored in North London. Perceptively, Charlie commented: "It's better to have the money in the Moke than in a bank account." Despite this, Charlie parted with the Moke in early 2014 when he sold it to Mel.
