Poland Still Pursues Close Ties with US Military

Close partnership with the United States and ensuring as many US troops are permanently deployed on Polish soil as possible - these have been the unchangeable goals of Polish foreign and security policy - a policy which recognizes the country -in the same manner as other regional powers - faces a Russian threat. Poland is already hosting some US troops but it wants more. In order to enhance bilateral ties, in June 2019 Polish President Andrzej Duda met US President Donald Trump at the White House, during which visit a joint declaration on defence cooperation regarding US force posture in Poland was signed.
