摘要

The book at hand concerns itself with the development of reconnaissance and monitoring over several epochs from World War I, the time thereafter up to the beginning of the World War II, wartime and the consequences with new arguments up to the year 2008. Both air- and space-based reconnaissance are the centre of interest. Some outstanding developments of manned and unmanned flying systems, as well as the development of space-based recce are described, in particular the verification of arms agreements. Key words in this book include recce, manned and unmanned platforms, UAS, and air-based early warning. Recommended for the versatile reader fluent in German.
