Financing a child's college education is not easy. That's why the founders of MOAA established a scholarship fund in 1948 to help the college-bound offspring of commissioned officers and enlisted personnel by providing interest-free loans and grants. Several affiliated councils and chapters also have established their own scholarship funds as a way to help students from military families fund college, but several others have chosen to establish a designated scholarship or grant through The Scholarship Fund of MOAA.
