Legislation: MOAA's legislative team staunchly has opposed force reductions and advocated manpower increases every year since 1999 to ease increasing strains on active duty, Guard, and Reserve service-members and their families. Reservists activated since January 2008 may credit their call-up time toward a retirement date before age 60 - a first step toward reserve retirement reform. MOAA championed inclusion of reservists in the new Post-9/11 Gl Bill when they are called up.
