Veterans struggling with substance abuse and PTSD issues can find a supportive environment in Oxford House homes. More than 1,300 homes in 41 states and Australia, Canada,and Ghana have more than 10,000 residents - 20 percent of them military referrals. The 501[cDC3] nonprofit began establishing homes for recovering alcoholics and substance abusers in 1975. The homes are rented and governed by the eight to 15 individuals living in each. Most of these veterans come to the homes through work with the VA.
