The evolution towards a new generation of insoluble anodes is an important step for the future and evolution of the electroplating industry. Several additional trials are being done in various applciations: Reel-to-reel high speed bright pure tin electroplating; steel mills application; and gold alloyed (Ni and Co) electroplating and study of their impact on efficiency and alloy conten. Other new developments are ongoing to improve the performance of SIA anodes by trying to increase further their lifetime as well as applying them for other electroplating uses, such as Cr(III), zinc and zinc alloys (like Zn-Ni), etc.
