Sapa buys Chinese profiles plantto boost Asian ops

Sapa Group has agreed to buy the aluminium profiles facility in Jiangyin, China, from Jiangyin (Haihong) Non-Ferrous Materials Co for an undisclosed fee, the Swedish extrudersaid last week. The plant, located 150km north-east of Shanghai, comprises 15 presses with a total capacity of 60,000 tpy. It is also equipped with casting, anodising, horizontal powder coating, thermal break and fabrication capabilities. Haihong, which began operation in 2009, mainly serves the solar and industrial markets.
