We report our simulation and experimental solar irradiation sensor results to achieve box-like PV-generation profiles by shifting the mid-day peak by 4 hours to the left in the morning to 8AM and 4.5 hours to the right in the afternoon to 4:30PM without the added costs of using trackers by optimizing tilt angles of East/West facing mono-facial or bifacial panels. We determined the optimum panel tilt angle to be between 45-60 degrees. Benefits for residential solar-PV customers are: 1) eliminate peak mid-day export of excess rooftop PV-generation back to the grid reducing the Duck Curve effects, 2) reduce morning grid-buy demand, 3) reduce early evening grid-buy demand and the high TOU (time-of-use) rates, 4) with battery storage delay start of evening battery discharge extending overnight battery usage and 5) improve morning battery charging for 2
