Contracture of the sternocleidomastoide muscle observed in the newborn is a well kown entity but it's pathogenesis remains controversial. We present a typical case and review the literature on this condition.%La contracture du muscle sternocléidomastoïdien présentée par le nouveau-né est bien connue mais sa pathogenèse reste controversée. Nous présentons un cas typique de cette pathologie et une revue de la littérature concernant ce trouble.
