AIP for Jones Act-Compliant SOV

ABS has granted 'approval in principle' (A1P) to the global marine engineering firm VARD Marine (VARD) for its design of the first Jones Act-compliant service operations vessel (SOV) dedicated for use in the U.S. offshore wind sector. The design, a version of VARD's 4-Series (07) SOVs customized for use in U.S. territorial waters, offers innovative new features for accommodation, with a focus on safety in the transfer of personnel to platforms, and storage facilities for the components and tools used during operations.
