Singapore Maritime Institute formed

A Singapore Maritime Institute (MI) is to be launched as part of efforts to support the growth of Singapore as an International Maritime Centre. A joint effort by the Singapore Maritime and Port Authority (MPA), the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), and the Economic Development Board (EDB) in partnership with local Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), the Singapore MI reflects Singapore's continued commitment to the maritime industry.
