Bestobell Valves secures deal for dual fuel vessel

Uk-Based Bestobell Valves, part of the President Engineering Group (PEGL), has delivered its first order from Waertsilae Gas Power Systems (GPS), to manufacture 20 cryogenic valves for use in the dual-fuel system onboard converted car and passenger ferry Osfriesland.The valves, which are a combination of Class 150 manual and pneumatic actuated globe valves, were delivered within an eight week period The vessel retrofit is expected to significantly reduce the ship's environmental impact, with the dual-fuel engines able to run on LNG as the main fuel, but with the capability to switch to conventional fuels, if necessary.
