Nigeria has invited Pakistani companies to establish joint ventures in industries as diverse as fruit processing and leather. The invitation came from the deputy governor of Edo State, Nigeria, Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, during a meeting with the vice-president of FPCCI Mahmood Ahmed. A difficulty lies in the fact that Nigerian companies are reluctant to open letters of credit with Pakistani exporters while Pakistani banks do not accept L/Cs fom Nigeria and there is no corresponding bank in Nigeria except Habib Bank Ltd.
