Data center plans for Chile and Uruguay

Latin American data center specialist Odata is to expand into Chile; it plans to build a new facility in Santiago. The Data Center Dynamics website reports that, when fully developed, the six-hectare site will house more than 40,000 square meters of data center buildings totaling 28MW of capacity. The completion date has not been revealed. The company says it will invest $217 million into the development and will support around 500 jobs during the construction phase and 100 jobs when the data center is fully operational.
