Intelligent transport systems in the frame

Harnessing the potential of intelligent transport systems (ITS) to improve services for users was a driving force behind research on developing a first step toward a national ITS architecture.rnThe research report, prepared by Rod James, James Date and Cormac McBride of Traffic Design Group (was Hyder Consulting) between 2007 and 2010, acts as a framework for developing a future architecture, by building a shared understanding of what ITS architecture involves and aligning the efforts of the various stakeholders involved.
