This Year's Bsi Beacon Award for best practice by a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) was scooped by Dalepak Ltd, one of the only logistics companies in the world to be registered to: ISO 9001:2000 (quality), ISO 14001(environment) and OHSAS 18001 (health and safety). A trophy and cheque for ￡3,000 was presented by BSI Group chairman, Sir David John, on May 19 at the BSI's AGM at its headquarters in London. Dalepak has demonstrated the high value that it places on achieving excellence through management systems by implementing a successful integrated management system (IMS).The company took the decision to become registered to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 as a prerequisite to securing future business from its major customer Ford. OHSAS 18001 was added to achieve the IMS and the whole process took 18 months.
