The common environmental conditions of temperature and moisture (i.e., hygro-thermal conditions) have a significant influence on the mechanical behavior of laminated composite plates. This behavior is strongly dependent on the laminate configuration of the laminated composite plates and can be optimized by tailoring layer angles and layer thicknesses. In [1], the authors examined the layup optimization problems of minimizing the deflection of laminated composite plates subjected to hygrothermal conditions. However, Eq. (9) in [1] was incorrectly derived. Thus, in [1], Figures 3c, 4c, and 5c, and the results in Tables 1 and 2, are incorrect. This erratum provides the correct form of Eq. (9) in [1] and the correct figures and tables. The same notation as in [1] is used.
