摘要

The fabrication of novel 2D and 3D molecular nano-architectures is attracting increasing attention in various research fields ranging from materials science to nanotechnology. Among biomolecules, peptides are very favorable building blocks, owing to the ease of their synthesis, relative stability, and chemical and biological functionalization. They have been used for the design and construction of nanostructures for diverse applications, such as templates for the growth of functional networks, biosensors for monitoring enzymatic reactions, and organic catalysts for asymmetric aldol reactions.
