“Telling” About Brokenheartedness: A Response to A Case Study of “The Disconnected/Unplugged Man”

ABSTRACT. An understanding of sin as a manifestation of brokenheartedness offers a way of framing the healing task before the therapist and the “Disconnected/Unplugged Man” client. The client's addiction to Internet pornography may be a means by which he is unconsciously replicating his heretofore silenced story of abuses of linear power. Embodied community and relational power offer pathways to authentic and life-giving relationships of love and presence.
