I profited greatly from reading this fine volume honoring Karl ("Chip") Case, who is widely recognized for contributions to urban economics, housing economics, public finance, and pedagogy. It has twelve essays by economists; nine report original empirical research, including substantial econometric analysis in eight of the nine. The other three essays are the introduction by editors Edward Glaeser and John Quigley, Robert Shiller's review of theoretical aspects, and David Warsh's nice short biographical essay on Case. There are short commentaries on some essays. The book is almost entirely about the United States.
