Housing Markets and the Economy: Risk, Regulation and Policy is a collection of ten papers, plus an introduction, in honor of Karl E. Case, a pioneer in studying real-estate markets and their links to the broader economy. Editors Edward L. Glaeser and the late John M. Quigley begin with a summary of Case's most influential contributions and a comprehensive introduction to the subsequent papers. I know Glaeser well, as my doctoral advisor and coauthor, so the insight-fulness and generosity of the introduction come as no surprise to this reviewer.
