摘要

A semi-organic nonlinear optical Barium guanidinium dichloride (BaGuCl_2) has been grown by conventional slow evaporation method. Large-sized and optically transparent single crystal of BaGuCl_2 was successfully harvested within 90 days. The unit cell parameters were determined using single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. FTIR spectral analysis shows the presence of BaGuCl_2. Optical absorbance and cut-off wavelength of BaGuCl_2 were determined using UV-visible analysis. Second-harmonic generation efficiency of BaGuCl_2 was concluded to be 50% better than standard KDP crystal. Thermal stability of the title crystal was explored using thermogravimetric analysis. Microhardness studies were done, and it affirms that the grown crystal is a soft crystal.
