TUTORIAL EFFECT DISPLAYS

Effect displays are tables or graphs which represent terms in a statistical model and are designed to make the task of interpreting them much simpler. They provide predictions for the response variable over the range of each explanatory variable in the model, whilst holding other variables at typical values. A particular feature of these displays is that they are easy to produce and manipulate and circumvent many of the problems analysts typically have with interpreting statistical models. Effect displays can be used to effectively interpret models and can also help in the process of model-selection, model-checking and with model presentation.
