需要度調査から見る統計学への期待と大学教育のあり方

In the current age of informatization, data are utilized in every field of society and the need for statistical tools for processing and analyzing these data are more essential than ever. On the other hand, the curriculum for data processing in primary education lessened due to the introduction of "the relaxed style education" in recent years. Under these circumstances, it is necessary for the statistics education at the university level to bear even greater responsibility in raising qualified personnel to the society. Seeking future developments of the statistics education at the university level, we conducted the essentiality survey for private enterprises and public institutions in March 2005. We investigated what statistical knowledge are thought to be necessary and how they are being utilized, and whether the current statistics education at the university level is responding to their needs. We will further study the result of this survey to identify the needs of statistics to the enterprises and public institutions and their evaluation of the statistics education at the university level.%情報化時代の今日，データは社会のあらゆる分野で利用されており，その処理?分析のため の統計手法のニーズは今まで以上に高まっている．一方，近年の「ゆとり教育」の進展により， 小中高教育におけるデータ処理に関する内容は減少傾向にある．大学における統計教育は，社 会に貢献できる人材を育成するという意味で，今まで以上に大きな責任を，厳しい環境の中で 負っていることになる． そこで，今後の大学における統計教育のあり方を探るべく，2005年3月，企業や官公庁? 自治体等に対し，統計知識は何がどの程度まで必要と考えられているか，大学での統計教育は そのニーズに応えているかについて問うアンケート調査「データ分析と統計知識の需要度調査 （大学教育への期待）」を行った．本稿では，この分析結果より，企業や団体の統計学に対する ニーズおよび大学での統計教育に対する評価について探っていく．
