This paper presents a novel algorithm of residual Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) tracking for Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) based Ultra Wide Band (UWB) systems. The scheme utilizes the Time-domain Spreading (TDS) technology which is provided in the system to achieve time-frequency diversity. Blind CFO estimation formulas are derived from the special mapping relationship between data symbols and corresponding TDS ones in time and frequency domain respectively without using any assisted information. Based on the blind estimators, two types of tracking loops are developed. Simulation results show that compared with conventional pilots-aided algorithms, the proposed blind tracking has better performances in terms of Mean Square Root Error (MSRE) and Bit Error Rate (BER).
