摘要

Ambiguities, grating lobs, caused by high sparseness of array significantly degrade the performance of pattern synthesis for Multiple-input Multiple-output (MIMO) radar systems. In this paper, the optimization of sparse array pattern synthesis for orthogonal MIMO radar is presented based on multistage Genetic Algorithm (GA). Upon simultaneously optimizing the geometries of transmit and receive antennas, maximum Degrees of Freedom (DOF) and low grating lobs level can be obtained in our research. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
