Real-time Performance Evaluation of Avionics Networks Using Network Calculus

Avionics network is one of the typical hard real-time systems which are required to complete their works and deliver their services on a timely basis. In this paper, a network model of the avionics networks was built, and the Network calculus, which has been proven as a valuable and versatile methodology for worst-case analysis of communication networks, was introduced to solve the real-time analysis problem. And two different switch strategies are proposed to satisfy different needs, and upper bound delay of the two kind network are calculated respectively. In the end, simulations are done to verify the conclusions.
