In 2003, the Booker Health Sciences Library began a grassroots effort to build a culture for consumer health services as a value-added library service by exhibiting at health fairs and initiating a home delivery service. A desktop anatomy teaching mannequin was placed on the library's exhibit table 3 years ago by Corporate Community Outreach. The library seized upon this opportunity and has used the anatomy mannequin since then for teaching moments at health fairs. The library's exhibit table has evolved into a popular destination at health fairs. The library's consumer health services is now a library service line that is promoted at all levels of Meridian Health's Key Clinical Services and Community Outreach.
