摘要

Antimicrobieal and antioxidant activities of three extracts in water, ethanol and methanol were studied. The antimicrobial activities of the three extracts were determined by minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method, the same activity (MIC value of 1000 μg/ml) was observed with methanol and ethanol extract against E. coli and S. aureus. Antioxidant activities of the three extracts from Origanum vulgare L. subsp. hirtum (Link) I e t s w. were tested by DPPH radical scavenging assay, metal chelating activity assay and β-carotene-lycopene, total phenol, total flavonoid contents were determined. In addition, flavonoids content was analysed by HPLC. The highest phenolic and flavonoid contents were found in the water extract 361.98±2.95 mg GAE/g and 111.90±0.24, respectively. According to the HPLC flavonoid analysis results, methonolic extract had higher quercetin (7.80 mg/g), kaemferol (2.40 mg/g) and apigenin (5.40 mg/g) contents than the other extracts.
