Bioprotective Heteroorganosilicon Coatings

Systematic studies by the authors are generalized, concrning the development of chemisorbed bioprotective heteroorganosilicon coatings based n monomers of the YRSiX_3 type (Y is a toxophoric group, R is a two-charged rad- ical, and X are readily hydrolyzable substituents). The sudy is focused on com- pounds with a tin or mercury atom in the functional group Y. The use of bioprotective coatings is discussed in view of protection of various materials against biodamage promoted by microorganisms and hydrobionts.
