A photograph posted on the Chinese haohanfw.com online forum appears to show that construction of frigates for the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) has resumed at the Huangpu shipyard in Guangzhou. The photograph shows that the ship's hull is largely complete, with the exception of the bow section. Alongside the new hull in the shipyard's covered construction hall is Type 054A (Jiangkai Ⅱ)-class frigate Liuzhou (pennant number 573), which appears to have been lifted out of the water for maintenance. The image clearly shows that the two ships have the same hull form.
