摘要

The Russian military contractors operating in support of the Libyan National Army (LNA) have lost two of the MiG-29 fighters that were deployed to Libya in late May, according to US Africa Command (AFRICOM). Rear Admiral Heidi Berg, AFRI-COM's director of intelligence, told reporters on 11 September that the two MiG-29s were being flown by pilots employed by the Wagner Group private military company (PMC). The causes of the crashes are unclear but might indicate a lack of technical skill, she said. AFRICOM told Janes that the crashes occurred on 28 June and 7 September but would not comment on whether a video that was posted on social media channels on the latter date showed the aftermath of one of the crashes.
