摘要

Seoul has signed a one-year agreement with Washington that will increase its contribution to the upkeep of about 28,500 US troops in South Korea by 8.2%. After 10 rounds of negotiations to conclude the 10th Special Measures Agreement (SMA), which delineates burden-sharing for the US military presence on the Korean Peninsula, the two sides agreed on 10 February that South Korea will pay KRW1.04 trillion (USD923 million) for 2019, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in Seoul.
