This paper describes the acoustic design of the new LG Arts Centre (LGAC) in Seoul (district of Magok Dong), South Korea. Theatre Projects is responsible for providing acoustics, theatre planning and theatre technical systems advice. The architect is Tadao Ando working in collaboration with Korean architects Gansam. The LGAC comprises a 1300 seat auditorium named the Main Theatre, hosting symphonic music, operas and touring international and Korean amplified shows, a 400 seat black box theatre hosting drama, conferences and amplified music, two rehearsal rooms and a science centre. This new Arts Centre will replace the existing LG Arts Centre, located in the Gangnam district, which was opened in 2000.
