US soon to release draft final rule for US Munitions List Category Ⅻ

The US government is expecting to release a final regulation for public comment of Category Ⅻ (fire-control systems, rangefinders, optical, and guidance and control equipment) of the US Munitions List (USML) in the coming weeks, IHS Jane's has learned. Speaking at the IDEX exhibition in Abu Dhabi on 23 February, director of the US Defense Technology Security Administration Beth McCormick told exhibition attendees that a draft final regulation would shortly be released for public comment, following lengthy delays due to the need to incorporate feedback from industry on previous calls for comments on proposed changes to the category's definitions.
