TFI releases long list of complaints with RMP; presses EPA for changes before final rule

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on May 13 concluded the 60-day public comment period on proposed changes to its Risk Management Program (RMP), and The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) submitted a long list of concerns about the revised RMP. The revisions are in response to President Obama's Executive Order 13650, Improving Chemical Facility Safety and Security, which was released in August 2013 (GMAug. 5, 2013) in the wake of the April 2013 fire and explosion at the West Fertilizer Co. facility in West, Texas.
