Pro-government forces in Syria have attempted to attack US-led coalition forces for the first time using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), a coalition spokesman told reporters on 8 June. The UAV dropped a munition on a patrol of US-led coalition and local fighters east of a decon-fliction zone around Al-Tanf in southeast Syria, the spokesman said. There were no casualties or damage to equipment as a result of the attack and a US aircraft shot down the UAV in response.
