TSA turns to machine learning in the battle against bottlenecks

The US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Google company Kaggle are hosting a competition to help improve the accuracy of threat-prediction algorithms at airport checkpoints. Using a dataset of images collected on the latest generation of scanners, participants are challenged to identify the presence of simulated threats under a variety of object types, clothing types, and body types.
