The theory is traditional and classic, but for making inferences, it is necessary to suppose a distribution of the statistical population which is not possible to do with security and certainty. For this reason, the classical inferences are based on hypothesis without proof that the population is in reality as the statistician supposes. Some methods of statistical inference based on fixed finite populations avoid these objections.
