How can we as researchers enhance the quality of our studies?

Qualitative research has found its place in thenscientific community even though some representativesnof quantitative research still claim that qualitativenresearch is ‘‘fluffy’’ and does not yield ‘‘true’’nresults. I believe that in some instances they arenright even though the arguments have calmed downna bit since more qualitative research is presented.nI believe that we as qualitative researchers have tonstart to discuss in our groups*how can we assurenand enhance the quality of the qualitative researchnwe are conducting? We need to address those issuesnand not only compete with the quantitative community,nbut also be critical towards the quality ofnthe qualitative research we are presenting ourselves.nThat is, those who have the expertise in qualitativenresearch should be the ones who prompt thendiscussions about quality, rigor and trustworthinessnand how to refine the methods used, in order tonreach more a profound understanding of whatnis researched.
