Research activities in the school of information systems at Curtin University of Technology

The School of Information Systems has a rich history of research and teaching in Information Systems. It is one of the oldest Schools in Information Systems in Australia, and much of its early academic leadership came from Professor Bob Galliers and other leading international researchers in the IS field. Today the School offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and undertakes research to support its teaching and influence industry practice. The foundation for much of the research in the School was laid by Professor Galliers, a former Head of School, who introduced "Soft" Systems Methodology to Western Australia and formed the much talked about "Machiavellian Society". Research today is organised under four interrelated themes, and is led by four leading research professors. These are: IT applications in Industry including E-Logistics; Systems, Methodology and Framework; E-Business; and Information Systems Management.
