Feasibility study begins at Moragolla, Sri Lanka

A feasibility study for the Moragolla hydropower project in Sri Lanka was undertaken in October this year with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The executing agency, Ceylon Electricity Board, has arranged to implement this work in two phases.The 27 MW project is being planned on the country's longest river, Mahaweli. The project is expected to harness the hydro potential in the river stretch between the existing 201 MW Kotmale dam and its power station outfall.
