The launch of Steinhoff's spin-off of its African assets on Wednesday was the earliest post-summer start for an IPO in the EMEA region since 2005. The top banks are planning more than 10 IPOs each before year-end, and that already factors in some candidates being acquired before launch. One bank will launch 11 in September alone. Clearly, there is some overlap in the pipelines, but those numbers - which include billion dollar-plus offerings from Pirelli, Bawag and Arqiva - would eclipse the tallies in recent years.
