Pinterest, the digital scrapbooking site, joined the whirl of tech IPOs that are not yet profitable but planning to go public by publicly filing its IPO prospectus. But unlike lyft and uber, which have spent heavily to change the future of transport, Pinterest has kept a tighter lid on losses even as it continues to expand. Pinterest has grown revenue by about 60% in each of the past two years to US$756m in 2018. Its net losses nearly halved last year to US$63m, a real company in other words.
