The Accounting Standards Board of Japan may soon require that businesses disclose to investors "environmental liabilities," or the costs associated with cleaning up toxic waste from the sites they operate, effective for fiscal year 2010, an official with Japan's Financial Accounting Standards Foundation said Jan. 23.
